Little Lemon FAQ
What is Little Lemon?
Beginning in 2018 Little Lemon Productions (LLP), started by Adaryn Healy and Brody Buck, worked to create a safe creative space for students by students. The drive for a space stemmed from Brody and Adaryn's collective experiences in community theatre throughout their lives. They both embarked on this mission to build a space they saw was missing—a place where young voices are truly heard and authentically represented.
Little Lemon has grown and shifted over the years, we now offer many programs and classes throughout the year to serve our constantly growing community of artists. At the center of Little Lemon is the opportunity for young artists to grow and learn through action. There is no level of the company that isn't learning from every single production. Each cast brings a unique blend of life experiences that present new challenges and opportunities for all to gain experience and knowledge from one another.
Little Lemon is dedicated to providing opportunity to everyone who walks through our door regardless of: sex, race, size, immigration status, disability, gender, sexuality, and economic background. You are safe to learn, to grow, to experience, and to create here. Little Lemon will always fight for the right to perform stories that make all of our actors feel seen.

How do we choose our season?
Little Lemon chooses our season based on a few factors, mainly community interest and political relevancy. Little Lemon is always looking for ways to support our community and the stories they are interested in telling. Generally, this looks like Instagram and current cast polling. Adaryn will come up with a list of shows that feel politically relevant, culturally relevant, and reflect the community members we currently have while opening the door to new community members. Once this list is accumulated and polls have been completed, Adaryn begins applying for the rights of the top shows. Once rights have been applied for and processed the decision comes down to rights cost, materials cost, and theatre comfortability- in cases where food, blood, chalk, or other mess-making things may be required. Often the next season for Little Lemon has been discussed and applied for before the current season began. In the perfect storm of all these factors coming together Little Lemon has a show! In the chance that a show doesn't make it past these tests despite community interest, it will placed on the list for the next round, which is why you might notice some shows continue to be a part of our polling. Either way, we have found that this new way of selecting shows has continued to provide us with the perfect shows for the season!
How is Little Lemon Funded?
Little Lemon has been proudly self-sustaining for the majority of our time. In the beginning, we mainly operated off the generosity of members of the community donating: space, sets, props, costumes, funds, and materials. However, since our production of Heathers, we have been able to support ourselves mainly through ticket sales and GoFundMe donations from the community. When one show closes the proceeds go right back into the rights for the next production and reimbursing the costs of the current. With this model, Little Lemon has been able to ensure we are always able to go on to the next.
