Acting for The Stage
Acting for The Stage is one of Little Lemon's most requested programs and we are so excited to offer it finally! Acting for the stage will focus on a duo scene structure. Actors will be assigned scenes and partners during the class and be guided through: breaking down a scene, discovering actions, and gaining skills in deepening the impact they have on the audience. The scenes will range between 5-10 minutes and will be sent out ahead of time, although you won't know your assignment until the start of class, you will have a chance to read through and let me know if there is content you are uncomfortable with performing or questions you have about a piece. You will also get the chance to let me know if you have any preference for scenes. Once scenes are assigned actors will have 30 minutes to touch base with their partners and rehearse throughout the theatre. Afterward, each duo scene will have 20-30 minutes on their feet working with Adaryn directly. All other actors will observe the performances of the other duos to gain skills from their sessions.
Dates:
May 26th, 6-9
June 1st, 6-9
June 8th, 6-9
Class Cost:
$10 General Admission (per class)
$25 Class Pass: Class Passes must be registered for and purchased prior to the first class (applies to all Acting for The Stage sessions.)

About Adaryn
Adaryn has been acting since the mature age of 5 when she was bribed with candy and steamed broccoli to participate in a production of "The Music Man." After walking onto the stage for the first time she didn't think about the candy anymore and wanted nothing more than to go back out there. Since then Adaryn has been set on a path for theatre, performing, and directing from then till now. Adaryn is currently a Junior at Marymount Manhattan College where she is receiving a BFA in Musical Theatre and a BA in Theatre Arts: Concentration Directing. She has Directed productions such as Sweeney Todd, Into The Woods, Alice By Heart, 13!, and more. She has Assistant Directed: "Like I Care" with Director Julie Kramer and "$40" with Director Lindsey Timmington. On the stage, Adaryn has had the joy of playing roles such as McKenzy in Ryan Scott Oliver's workshop of Tomorrow The Island Dies, The Witch in Into The Woods, Velma in Chicago, and many more- Adaryn has proudly been in 90 productions as of Into The Woods!
Adaryn grew up doing theatre thanks to scholarship programs and free community theatre opportunities. She believes that accessibility to theatre: financially, physically, and emotionally is vital to happy lives. She is dedicated to giving back by building a space that ensures all actors regardless of size, race, immigration status, sexual orientation, gender identity, and disability status can participate equally. Her class is centered around giving actors tools to hold on to and use to create their approach to acting. Adaryn believes that authentic acting is best found through trial and error, every actor must find what works for them. She hopes not to tell you how to do something the exact way she would but to help add tools to YOUR kit.
